Tuck Book Boyfriend

Have you met Tuck?

His story, To Win Her Trust, book 2 in the Players series, is on sale for $1.99

and he’s ready to sweep you off your feet.

Oh, and if you hurry, you can snatch up book 1, To Win Her Love, for $.99 this week as well.

You’ll find all formats of both books at Kensington Publishing.

LOL Okay, my e-books are on sale, but hey, as much of me as I put into writing them, it’s the same thing. From now through Christmas, several of my titles (and a lot of others too) are being offered at 25% off their regular price. So, head on over to The Wild Rose Press and enjoy!

Nope, this isn’t a post giving the do’s and don’ts of Kindle free days. There are plenty of those out there and besides, I haven’t gotten all my notes together yet from last week’s free for all frenzy of free downloads of The Billionaire’s Con. I’ll share a “How I did it.” post later – when I know if I did indeed “DO” it, or if my crazed tweeting and posting were were just the manic efforts of a book pimp (as one of my friends dubbed me). For now, I’m just sharing a few thoughts on an intensive labor of love.

To those of you who know me well, I apologize for clobbering you with so much promo crap. Sorry, about that. Oh, and by the way, I’m apologizing right now for next month when A Song for Sophie goes free, and the month after that when That Dating Thing hits KDP free, and then there is Cara O’Shea’s Return…  I know. I may need new friends by December.

That’s bad.

Anyway, I’m exhausted, but I survived KDP free, with good results – I think. I worked my tail off, reaching and holding higher ratings slots than I ever expected in both the US and UK (#11 overall free and #4 for free contemporary romance). The book is selling well today, YAY, and I went from 8 lonely reviews on Amazon US to 23 since Friday and got my very first review in the UK!

That’s good.

The reviews include seven fabulous new 5 stars, several 4’s, a couple 3’s and two 1’s.

Yeah, those 1’s are ugly!

Holy crap. Who knew people got so worked up and personal over fictional characters? I mean, I’m the author of these characters and know their every thought, and I don’t think I’ve ever gotten that worked up over the flaws in their personalities. God, I feel like I’m back in the fifth grade and Sister Mary Beatrice has out her red pen! *Shudder!*

I did just a little bit better over at Goodreads. No 1’s but one of the 2’s complained, “Contains a descriptive sex scene, which made my rating one star lower.” Really? Was it the cover? Because there isn’t a bare chest or heaving bosom, you figured it was a young adult or kid’s book? Hello! Romance novel! Sheesh. Deep breath.

That leaves the good.

Today, I got a notification of a message on my FaceBook author page. Um, I didn’t even know I could get messages there. Anyway, the message was better than good. It was awesome – at least to me. You see, I’d gotten my first legitimate fan mail. You know, from a stranger. It read: “Just finished The Billionaire’s Con. Loved it wanted to know if there might be a sequel coming? Brody and the sister might make a good pair, after all, she needs a daddy for her boys.”

Whoot! Thanks Bertie, whoever you are. Thrown up against those faceless reviewers who feel it’s their duty (or more likely, their pleasure) to trash a story someone else put their blood, sweat and tears into, your simple communication is pure gold and made the entire exhausting last week worth it.

So, look for my “How I did it” post (Thinking positively here) and if there is a soul out there who hasn’t yet downloaded The Billionaire’s Con, you still can, but it’ll cost you a couple of bucks now. You can find it, and my other titles, on Amazon.

That’s right. Who doesn’t like free? Nobody, that’s who.

So, I’m happy to announce that my lighthearted contemporary, THE BILLIONAIRE’S CON, is free for download today through Saturday on Kindle. So, don’t doddle. Click on the cover to go get your copy and if you wouldn’t mind, share the link with your friends and please consider leaving a review when you’re done.

Oh, my bad. I forgot I was visiting with my friend today, the lovely and talented author, Calisa Rhose. I’ve brought The Billionaire’s Con along and I’m giving away a free copy to one lucky commenter. Will it be you? Not if you don’t stop by. 🙂 See you at Calisa’s Pen of the Dreamer blog.

THE BILLIONAIRE’S CON, one of my titles contracted in The Wild Rose Press’ acquisition of Still Moments Publishing is once again available. I’m thrilled to re-release Meggy and Trevor into the world of romance. I had a blast writing their love story, I hope you’ll enjoy getting to know them as well.

Available @ Amazon

Chef Meggy Calhoun realizes her long-held dream with the opening of Boston’s hottest new culinary experience. Crazy-busy with her new restaurant, she can’t deny a fascination for her hunky new tenant. But will her secret connection to one of New England’s most powerful families poison her recipe for success, and leave her heart flambeed?

Trevor Bryce Christos would do anything to protect the woman who raised him. Even seduce a beautiful con artist disguised as a chef and bent on cashing in on his family’s wealth. Taking up residence in Meggy’s carriage house while disguised as a writer doing research on small town New England is the perfect ploy to catch her at her game. But when the truth of her parentage is revealed, and his ruse exposed, he’ll need the townsfolk’s help with spin control if love is to remain on the menu.

“What are you doing in here, Meggy?” Jill moved to stand beside the stepladder. “And why are you painting?”

Meggy frowned at the intruders, ignoring Jill for the moment. Her gaze scanned the tall stranger. She noted his expensive suit and handsome face below a thick pelt of dark, auburn hair. Though very attractive, he had that stiff, life-is-serious-business look about him.

Meggy sighed at the waste and turned her frown to Jill. “I needed something to keep my hands occupied until I can get back into the kitchen.” Agitated as much with the delay as the mess, she flicked her hand holding the roller. A silken thread of paint danced through the air, leaving a drizzle of pale yellow across the faded denim of her favorite jeans.

Perfect. Just perfect.

“Get back into the kitchen?” Jill placed her hands on her hips. “I thought the kitchen was up and running.”

Meggy hoisted her butt off the top of the ladder and slapped a hand to the wall when she lost her balance. From the corner of her eye, she saw the lawyer take a startled step forward. With a disgusted growl, she glared at the fresh slash of paint coating her hand, and clambered down the ladder backwards before he could reach her.

“We had a leak.” She jumped the last two steps to land on the floor, jamming the roller into the pan at the foot of the ladder. “The plumber is there now, dealing with the aftermath.” Reminded of the calamity in her kitchen, she turned a glower on the silent man and quirked a brow. “And you are?”

“Oh, I’m sorry.” Jill rolled her eyes at Meggy and made the introductions. “Meggy Calhoun, this is Trevor Bryce. He’s a writer who’s interested in renting the carriage house. Mr. Bryce, Meggy is one of the owners of Palmer House. She’s also the head chef.”

Fascinated, Meggy watched as the stiff lawyer vanished behind a wicked smile, a flash of white teeth, and dimples. There was nothing stiff about the penetrating gaze that met and held hers. The deep drawl of his voice, when he said hello, reminded her of the smooth slide of the aged whiskey found in Palmer House’s well-stocked bar. She glanced at the hand he held out, and flipped up her own paint-smeared palm. “Sorry, I’m a mess.”

Laugh lines crinkled the tanned skin at the corner of his eyes, and the soft core of femininity within her sighed in appreciation. She’d always had a soft spot for the Greek god type. Looking at Trevor Bryce, she had a sudden craving for feta cheese and ouzo.

Hiya romance junkies! Welcome to Sneak Peek Sunday. Don’t forget to check out the other author’s peeks. You won’t be disappointed. Just click on that snazzy banner up there – After you check out mine, of course.

I’ve got a literal sneak peek for you this week. I recently contracted A Song for Sophie, a fun little cowboy romance. It will be release later this year in The Honky Tonk Hearts series from The Wild Rose Press. I’m still happy dancing to be joining the list of talented artists who have contributed to this awesome series.

Blurb: She’s the daughter of academia, he’s the crown prince of country music. Will a friendship built over words and music grow in perfect harmony, or will their chance at true love fall flat in heartbreak?

Setup: Sophie has been laid off from her teaching job and is thrilled to accept a six week job as Beau Walker’s assistant for his upcoming, country music tour. My sneak peek comes from their first, auspicious meeting.

“Mr. Walker?”

Up came his arms, muscles popping. A soft clang sounded when the weights met above his chest then swept outward once again as he lowered his arms. His eyes remained shut.

“Mr. Walker,” she repeated with a little more volume.

She eyed the thin wire leading to tiny headphones plugged into his ears. “Ah.” Bending at the waist, she leaned over him. “Mr. Walker!”

Dark eyes flashed open and his upper body exploded upward. “What the fu-!”

Sophie jerked upright, barely avoiding the collision of his forehead to her chin. She took a startled step backward, then squeaked as her feet tangled with something. Arms flailing, she toppled over. Her back met the floor with a breath-stealing thud. Legs draped over a low rack of weights, she gulped in air.

Thanks for stopping by. I love making new friends and comments are always appreciated. So, come on. Tell me what you think. I can take it. 😉

My bad. I’m late, as usual, but please forgive me. It’s been one of those weeks. But you’re here now, and my Sunday sneak is below. From my lighthearted contemporary, The Billionaire’s Con (details and excerpt here) this scene is early on in the story and well, it’s pretty self explanatory.

Click on that gorgeous banner up there to visit the sneak peek website for more intriguing peeks from some awesome authors.

Here’s my peek. Enjoy!

The surprising intimacy of standing in the sphere of that heat, of his heat, was startling, and delicious. Before she gave in to the insane urge to close the remaining distance between them, she forced herself to step back—bumping against the edge of the kitchen counter.

A self-conscious chuckle escaped, but died on her lips when she looked into his eyes. She blinked at the hot flare of male interest in the gray depths only inches from hers. Her belly lurched on a crazy bump when he reached out a hand. The breath caught in her throat at the slow brush of his fingertips dancing across her cheekbone then continuing down to track the curve of her jaw.

His hand dropped to his side and he stepped back. “Thanks for the help.”

Meggy could only stare, wide-eyed. Holy crap! Okay, this is just weird. That odd zapping sensation she remembered from yesterday had her entire body tingling with warm current today.

The rumble of a diesel motor, as the first of today’s delivery trucks ambled by the carriage house, had reason returning to her muddled brain. At least enough so that she managed to resist grabbing hold of Trevor Bryce and attempting to discover what it was about the guy that had her insides jumping around like crazed three year olds in a candy store.

The Palmer House was opening in just a few hours, for heaven’s sake. Fantasizing about having wild monkey-sex with a guy she just met probably wasn’t a good idea today.

Thanks a bunch for stopping by. I love making new friends and comments are always appreciated. Have a good one, Mac
