To Win Her Love

A Players Romance

Here’s a little tease.

Read Chapter One @ Kensington today.

It’s my pleasure to announce this rocking new romance is now available.  If you like a fast paced story with blood pumping suspense, steamy romance and in-your-face funny dialog that makes you pee your pants laughing, Rules of Protection is your ticket to a raucous good time.

Some rules are meant to be broken…

It’s rule breaker Emily Foster’s birthday, and like everyone at The Jungle Room, she just wants to get some action. Unfortunately, she stumbles on the wrong kind, witnessing a mob hit. To protect her, she’s entered into the Witness Protection Program with by-the-book Special Agent Jake Ward as her chaperone.

When the location of their safe house is compromised, Jake stashes Emily deep in the Texas backwoods. The city-girl might be safe from the Mafia, but she has to contend with a psychotic rooster, a narcoleptic dog, crazy cowboys, and the danger of losing her heart to the one man she can’t have.

Jake’s as hot as he is infuriating, and she can’t help but push all his buttons to loosen him up. Their mutual, sizzling sexual attraction poses a dilemma: Jake’s determined to keep her safe and out of the wrong hands; she’s determined to get into the right ones—his.

About the author:

Alison Bliss grew up in Small Town, Texas, but currently resides in the Midwest with her husband and two sons. With so much testosterone in her home, it’s no wonder she writes “girl books.” She believes the best way to know if someone is your soul mate is by canoeing with them because if you both make it back alive, it’s obviously meant to be. Alison pens the type of books she loves to read most: fun, steamy love stories with heart, heat, laughter, and usually a cowboy or two. As she calls it, “Romance…with a sense of humor.”

A Beautiful Young Woman In Business Attire by: Benjamin MillerHiya romance junkies! Welcome to another installment of What A Character Chat. This week, my fabulous friend and fellow author from The Wild Rose Press, Juli D Revezzo, has loaned us Stacy Macken, the heroine from her brand new release, Passion’s Sacred Dance. So, without further ado…

Welcome Stacy, before we start, can you tell us a bit about your story in Twitter fashion?

Stacy: Hi, Mac. Thank you for having me. 140 characters, huh? Have you seen some of the books Juli’s written? Short is not a word I’d use to characterize her work, or mine. I leave that to, Erika, my second in command. But since you asked so graciously, I shall try.

I’m steward of a sacred battlefield. One day this warrior walks up and tells me he needs it for the staging ground of a mythic battle. He’s dreamy so I’m destined to fall for him.

Mac: Don’t you just love when that happens? I mean, the dreamy warrior, not the mythic battle stuff.  Speaking of dreamy warriors. Hiya Aaron.*finger waves*

Aaron: *nods*: Good morning, Miss Crowne. Glad to see you. Uh, what’s this dreamy warrior stuff? I thought we were here to talk about the battle. Does she know what we’re facing?

Stacy: *glances at Aaron with a barely tolerant look* She will soon, if you let me finish.

Aaron: My mistake. Speak on, my love.

Stacy: *shakes head* Forgive him, Mac. What were you saying, dear?

Mac: Geez, I’m in the middle of a fictitious lover’s spat. LOL I love my life. 🙂 What do you consider your biggest strength?

Stacy: My interest in history. Those who don’t keep it in mind are doomed to repeat it. Of course, in my case, I’m in trouble either way. 😉

Mac: LOL Well, at least you’re prepared.

Stacy: You would think, wouldn’t you?

Mac: What about biggest weakness?

Stacy: The fact that sometimes I rely too heavily on my books. Not everything’s written down for posterity it seems—or at least I’ve learned from Aaron’s Druid advisors and friends that it isn’t. That and immortal Celtic Warriors. And …heck, I’m a fan of tootsie rolls.

Mac: Wait! Immortal Celtic warriors?

Stacy: *laughs* That’s what my family says “What do you mean, Immortal Celtic Warriors? Here? Sheesh, our ancestors were nuts.”….however…

Mac: Oh, my, and tootsie rolls? Did someone mention chocolate? Hell, Stacy, that’s a universal weakness. 🙂 So, the romance genre is often heavy with heartbreaking conflict, but what makes you laugh?

Stacy: Not much these days, I have to be honest, but seeing Aaron fiddle with the automatic light in my kitchen does the trick.

Mac: Oh, yeah. There’s nothing like watching a big tough guy from another century deal with modern technology, is there? 🙂 What was the toughest aspect of your story for you and Juli to work through?

Stacy: The whole concept of the harshad. I’d heard the word through family legend, but never knew exactly what it would mean to me.

Aaron: For those that don’t know, harshad is a number sequence that’s divisible by whatever its digits add up to. In our case, we picked 500. As I said, the harshad war is when we, meaning the Tuatha dé Danann and Balor fight for the dominance of the Earth. Happens every 500 years.

Stacy: *nods* Lucky me, I got the job to oversee it this time. I hadn’t thought much about it until Aaron started trying to explain why they picked me.  I mean to say, we knew about my ancestress in the 1500s, but I had no idea I had ancestors all the way back to…well, the Ice Age. *ugh* Look, I love history but oh. Gods! Trying to unwind that timeline just about drove us both crazy!

Aaron: Absolutely. If it wasn’t for Cyreth, one of our Druids, I probably would’ve gone crazy too with all the questions Stacy (and Juli) kept throwing at me! What is 500 years from the year 100AD? Hell, I don’t know. We calculate different than you humans.

Mac: LOL Aaron. Sorry, but when you show up and announce an impending epic battle, you have to expect a few questions.

Aaron: You have no idea. Comes with the territory, unfortunately.  The stewards (that’d be women of Stacy’s family) know to expect us, but they never just believe it. Gives every guardian I’ve ever met a headache.

Mac: Poor Aaron. Being a guardian sounds like a tough job, but hey, somebody’s got to do it, and you sound like you’ve got Stacy’s number. *wink* Now, can you share a short excerpt from your favorite scene in the story? And tell us why it’s your favorite.

Stacy: Oh, dear how to choose! Okay here’s one, a little hint; we’ve left Kansas here, folks. The woman we’re dealing with here isn’t exactly what she seems (man, I wish I’d known that earlier). Ahem, the scene goes:

The woman’s steely gaze, the ruby and shark’s tooth earring glittering in her right earlobe, and the dark threat mesmerized Stacy.

“No, you won’t have this ground.” A cool male voice brought the silver-eyed woman up short and the fog lifted from Stacy’s mind.

Aaron Fielding stood before her dressed in casual jeans and a gray, cable knit sweater. He seemed right at home here among the students, and yet somehow he also stood apart.

The air shifted. Stacy could have sworn his leather coat, for just an instant, took on the shape of a golden eagle’s wings.

A high-pitched whine escaped from the silver-eyed woman’s throat. She cocked her head as she took Aaron in, a bemused smile spreading over her face as if she were privy to some private joke.

Stacy: Why is it one of my favorites? Because one, I wish I’d known how tricky the harbingers were before that evening! I never would’ve let this woman into my gallery! Thank gods, Aaron was there to fight her off. And 2) Because it was the first time I’d ever seen Aaron in battle! *swoon* Did I mention I have a thing for immortal Celtic warriors?

Mac: Ahem. You’re not alone. *eyebrow waggles*

Aaron: *grins* Mac, darling girl, you’re in the right place. *winks*

Stacy: *pokes him* Don’t make me hurt you.

Aaron: I mean, I’ll introduce you to my brothers-in-arms, sometime.

Mac: Whoot! I’m going to hold you to that, Arron. 😉 Thanks so much for visiting with us today. Do either of you have a question for our junkie visitors?

Stacy: If you could find an ancient diary from anyone in your family line, what period in history would it be from and what would you do with it? (bonus points if you’d bring it to Bitter Thorn Grove History Center for me to oversee it for you! ;))

And if you’d like, you can read more about our battle in Passion’s Sacred Dance, by our …um, scribe, Juli D. Revezzo. It’s available on Kindle and coming soon to The Wild Rose Press and other e-retailers. Here’s a taste:

Battling mounting debt, Stacy Macken is determined not to lose her historic art gallery. When Aaron Fielding appears and offers to help, she fights to keep the attraction sizzling between them from clouding her judgment. He may be her savior in disguise–but can she trust him?

Aaron intrigues her with tales of the Tuatha dé Danann, sworn warriors who protect humanity from the monsters seeking their destruction. If Aaron can prove what he claims, she would give up anything to help–even the gallery he claims is sacred ground. But with her property set to stage the next epic battle, she needs answers. An old family diary will confirm the ancient legend is true, if only they can find it in time.

If the battle is lost, the enemy will take control of Earth for the next five hundred years. Stacy and Aaron’s budding love might only complicate things.

Now that you know about us, I suppose we should tell you a little about Juli:

Juli D. Revezzo is a Florida girl, with a love of fantasy, science fiction, and Arthurian legend, so much so she gained a B.A. in English and American Literature. She loves writing stories with fantastical elements whether it be a full-on fantasy, or a story set in this world–slightly askew. She has been published in short form, and recently released her debut paranormal romance novel Passion’s Sacred Dance. She also has an article and book review or two out there. But her heart lies in the storytelling.
