I can’t recommend this series highly enough. AJ Nuest’s voice blew me away in this magical adventure. I’m talking spellbound, folks. With an otherworld lilt that bordered on Shakespearean genius, the language seeped into my mind and transported me to a place of castles and magic, of honor and timeless love, and an evil that must be defeated.
Go pick up your copy. You can thank me later.

reaction she expected. Her beloved has been cast into the dungeons, and no amount
of arguing with the king and queen will prove he’s her fated love.

Faedrah fighting an evil entity aren’t helping. At least her parents made the
right decision and stuck him away someplace safe. Until he can figure out his

nightmares, he’s got no choice but to wait…and learn exactly what he’s become.

A Furious Muse, Book I…

the day of her birth, Princess Faedrah Austiere has been defined by her place
within the kingdom. As the single heir to the half-blood gypsy king and his
prophesied white queen, she is fiercely protected, shuttered inside an ivory
castle and well-trained in the art of war. Yet neither her obligations as
future queen nor the black infestation threatening her kingdom fail to hinder
the mysterious pull of the antique armoire hidden in her parents’ bedchamber. And
stealing the golden key for a leap through time is the only way to confront the
dark lord haunting her dreams.

object he’d never fully shown in any of his paintings.

The Sacrifice, Book II…

second Faedrah Austiere walked into his life off the canvas, everything in Rhys
McEleod’s world stopped making sense. Not only does her story sound like a
Grimm’s fairy tale, evidently he’s been cast as the villain. If that isn’t
enough, the mirror inside that old, beat up armoire at her uncle’s condo is
supposedly a doorway to another world. Ever since the pathway opened, something
inside him has seemed…off. If what his muse says is true, they are headed for
an epic showdown, but he isn’t about to let her go. Nothing is more important than
Faedrah’s protection, even if her parents refuse to accept him.

than the accusations he faces in her kingdom and, to escape evil’s grasp, she
and Rhys must take a leap of faith beyond her wildest imagination.

Happy Tuesday, cyber surfers. Welcome to the inaugural edition of What A Character, a weekly conversation with some diverse and interesting characters. Brady Scott is my first victim, er … interviewee, and all I can say is, Wowza!!!

I was stoked when the fabulous Laura Kaye agreed to loan me Brady, the hero of her hot damn contemporary, One Night With a Hero. Laura delivers rocking story lines full of gripping emotion and steam that leave you longing for more. Brady and Joss’ story is no exception. But hey, it’s your lucky day. Brady’s here to give us … a little more.

Thanks for the loan, Laura, and welcome to my mania, Brady.

So, in Twitter fashion, tell us about your story in 140 characters or less.

Brady: Sure. Here goes:

The story is about me getting the fucking awesome girl, and a family too, despite the fact I did everything possible to mess things up.

Mac: LOL You did struggle just a little before you got things straight, but I have to say, you even struggle sexy. What do you consider your biggest strength? Biggest weakness?

Brady: Joss is my biggest strength. She’s my rock in a world that often makes no damn sense.

Anger is my biggest weakness. I’m a work in progress where that’s concerned, but I’m getting there.

Mac: Joss certainly doesn’t take anyone’s crap, does she? But with a heart as big as hers, she’s bound to help you overcome that anger. The romance genre is often heavy with heartbreaking conflict, but what makes you laugh?

Brady: Nicky and Joss are what most make me laugh and smile. And the memory of that whipped cream hanging on Joss’s face and in her hair. That still makes me chuckle.

Mac: That made me laugh too, and then I needed a fan. 😉 What was the toughest aspect of your story for you and your author, Laura, to work through?

Brady: Trying to come to some kind of peace about everything that had happened with my father, and realizing that I had what it took to get passed that, and always had.

Mac: A nasty combination I can see would be hard to balance, but you and Laura managed it. Now, how about a peek behind the cover? Give us a short excerpt from your favorite scene in the story? And tell us why it’s your favorite.

Brady: Okay, easy, this was right after Joss accidentally sprayed herself with whipped cream:

Deep belly laughs racked him until he had to push his chair back from the table and grasp his stomach. Her face went bright red. She narrowed her eyes and scowled at him, but even that was funny because of the whipped cream hanging off the corner of her eyelashes.

“Sorry, I’m sorry,” he choked. He handed her a napkin. “Here.” She ripped it from his hand, setting him off again.

Something cool hit him in the forehead.

His laughter died in his chest and he gaped up at her as whipped cream sagged across his eye.

And then he was in motion.

It’s my favorite because it was the first time in so, so long that I’d felt anything like joy. And Joss gave that to me. I also like it because of what happened after, but for that you have to read the book.

Mac: LOL You’re a tease, Brady. Luckily, I’ve already read the book. Ahem, I’m warm just remembering what came next. You’re a doll for sharing with us today, Brady. Is there anything you’d like to ask our visitors before we finish?

Brady: Sure. Do you all like stories with military heroes? And, if so, why? Also, what do you like on your waffles? *chuckles as I picture Joss again*

Mac: Oh, yeah. A major tease! 😉

About One Night with a Hero:

He wants just one night…

…what they need is each other.

Orphaned as a child, community center director Joss Daniels swore she’d never put herself in a position to be left behind again, but she can’t deny herself one sizzling night with the sexy soldier who makes her laugh and kisses her senseless.
